OUR PURPOSE
Since 1963 SHCC has been pursuing to glorify God through seeing lives changed. Our purpose is to bring people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus and the fellowship of His church, to worship and to serve Him, and to develop a Christ-like maturity.
The reason we exist is found in “The Great Commission,” which Jesus left for His church before he ascended back into Heaven. Jesus said, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” – Matthew 28:19-20a
Our goal is to make disciples that make disciples.
WE BELIEVE
GOD We believe in one true God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit Hebrews 11:3
Jesus Christ We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s one and only Son, and that salvation is found only through Christ Jesus. Acts 4:12
Holy Spirit We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and that His ministry further indwells in believers to guide, instruct, comfort and empower believers for godly living and service. John 16:5-15
Bible We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:14-16
Salvation We believe that a person is saved by grace through Jesus Christ as follows:
• We are saved by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ Ephesians 1:7
• We cannot earn salvation Ephesians 2:8-9
• We are called to believe and accept Jesus Christ as the only Savior for sin John 3:16
• We who accept Christ repent of our sins, announce our faith and are baptized into Him Acts 2:38 & Matthew 10:32
Return of Christ We believe that Jesus Christ will one day return as the King of kings and Lord of lords. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
